HARRISBURG – Bill Scranton will appear before a 10:30am hearing of the House Minority Policy Committee this Monday. The former two-term lieutenant governor was invited to offer testimony on Governor Rendell’s 2007-08 state budget proposal.
“Bill Scranton was part of a leadership team in the 1980s that revitalized Pennsylvania’s economy and challenged a culture of corruption in state government,” said Scranton spokesman Mike DeVanney. Adding, “He’ll outline real alternatives to the Rendell Plan to grow government and raise taxes. But he’ll also be clear that Republicans have a responsibility to resist Governor Rendell’s budget and to provide a strong pro-growth alternative.”
